ATKINS DIET




Atkins diet is known as diet without carbs or protein diet. It is based on carb free foods. This means that the preferred foods are foods with protein.

The diet consists of three phases:

PHASE I

The aim of the first phase is metabolism changes. Carbohydrate intake is limited to 20 grams per day. So, for example, for breakfast you can eat an omelet of two eggs with ham or bacon, for lunch grilled steak and steamed fish for dinner. The first phase lasts for 14 days.

PHASE II

Involves the loss of body mass by consumption of fat reserves. Daily carbohydrate intake is limited to 15 to 40 grams. So, this phase is based on meat and vegetables (low carb).

PHASE III

Carbohydrates are gradually introduced, but are limited to a maximum of 60 grams per day.

PHASE IV

 Maintain existing reduced weight.

When you eliminate carbohydrates in daily meals, the liver converts fat into glucose, and additional products of that synthesis are toxic ketones. Ketones suppress appetite, thereby you eat less and weight loss emerge. Because of this diet does not consider intake of vitamins and minerals, it is recommended taking a vitamin pill that will make up for the obvious deficit of vitamins and minerals.

The food you can eat: All kinds of meat, fish and salad, eggs, vegetables, milk


Prohibited food: Bread, potatoes, flour, rice, soybeans, peas, bread crumbs, fried meat, pasta, peanut, medlar, hazelnut, hot dogs, butter, cream, sugar, chocolate, a variety of savory and sweet snacks, ice cream, all kinds of cheese, all kinds of fruit ...
